Las evidencias científicas respaldan cada vez más y firmemente los beneficios de la alimentación basada en plantas (vegana) en la prevención de enfermedades crónicas como la diabetes tipo 2, las enfermedades cardiovasculares y ciertos tipos de cáncer. Adoptar una dieta rica en frutas, verduras, legumbres, granos enteros y frutos secos no solo mejora la salud individual sino que también contribuye a la sostenibilidad ambiental. Promover, divulgar y enseñar adecuadamente este tipo de alimentación puede ser una estrategia eficaz en la lucha contra las enfermedades crónicas a nivel territorial (España) y mundial.
